Did I drop the ball?!

HI,
I'm a 16 year old community college student. This is my first year (I graduated two years early from my HS) and my first semester didn't go...well, quite as well as planned. I got a 3.6, even though I was hoping for much better. However, I have a great list of EC's and hopefully will do well on the SATs. I hope to major in international business and get a minor in Latin.

What are my chances to get into NYU, Brandeis, BU? What do I need to do other than bring my grades up next semester? What are colleges looking for?

Please reply!!!!

First, I would think that it depends on what type of ECs you have and your SAT score you earn. Secondly, why did you graduate early by ending up in community college? (If you do not mind my asking).

My (kind of bizarre) stats:
*HS GPA approx 3.8/3.9
*Performed Flamenco and spanish dance for 3 years
*Played guitar for 5 years
*Piano for 6 years
*Docent at fine arts gallery
*started non-profit organization for inner city kids who can't read
*Head of my Jewish Youth group
*Young Republican club
*Volunteered at John Muir Hospital

--I'm also writing a book on early graduation, which should be published and ready to go by next year.

I graduated by taking the CHSPE (California High School Proficiency Exam) and decided to go to a CC, mainly because I really disliked my HS administration and felt like the courses I was taking were a complete waste of time. I wish I could encourage more people to take the CHSPE...It let me graduate and take classes that i actually WANT to take, as opposed to classes I had to take because of grad. requirements.

You have a good chance, just get a good SAT and you will do fine.

a flamenco dancing, guitar playing, REPUBLICAN!, Jew. If that isn't diverse I don't know what is! Ninksy, which state do you go to CC in?

Haha, ah yes, and not to mention my father is Russian and my mother is Indian- i know, as diverse as it can get.

I'm at a California CC. ;-)

3 things. First, take your non profit out of your laundry list. If you really did that, it's your hook and should not be in the middle of a list that includes banal ECs. Second, I have to chuckle that you think being Russian and Indian will give you a tip! Those are 2 of the most highly educated people in the world! While certainly an interesting mix, it will not spell diversity to colleges. Last, no one can begin to tell you your chances until you have scores.

Yes, diversity is overrated.

Jeez Kirmum, you're pretty harsh. But thanks for pitching in!

You are too young to be worrying about such things. Go outside and take up a sport in the meantime.

I am not sure if u need the SAT, aren't u going to be considered a transfer student anyways.
