DId I get Deferred If they're asking to see mid-year grades

I applied to University of Pittsburgh as a nursing major and they have rolling admission. They’re now asking to see my mid-year grades for my senior year. Did I get deferred, is this a bad sign, or is it not unusual at all.

They are saying they won’t make a decision on your application until they get year mid-year grades.

Probably not uncommon, hopefully you will have strong grades to submit, but do remember direct admit nursing admission is very competitive…so, make sure to have at least one affordable safety as well.

Good luck.

This happened to my son a couple years ago. We knew he was borderline for admissions so we weren’t surprised. He sent his first term grades in February as soon as they became available and he was quickly admitted. He is now a sophomore at Pitt. It’s not the end of the world, but it does delay things which can be frustrating.

This happened to me this year. I sent in my first quarter grades and just got accepted the other day. Just keep your grades up and you should be fine.

ugh okay that sucks for me because my first quarter grades weren’t too good. i was gonna wait until the second quarter so my averages would be better. but congratulations!!! it’s my dream school

How long did it take for them to respond after you sent your q1 grades?

The “accept/decline” buttons appeared a few weeks after I sent in my grades. I don’t remember exactly how long it took but I think it was around 2-3 weeks.
