Did i get into UPenn?

Also, there's the chance that those of you who haven't heard anything have submitted everything that was required to the financial aid office...so it wouldn't make much sense for Penn to send you a notice about missing financial aid documents. Don't read into these things. We'll all know in two days time. No use in speculating now. Just relax. Please? ;)

^ but these people said the things the letter requested weren't supposed to be due until April anyways, so it's not technically 'missing'.
Ug, now i'm worried cuz I didn't get it.

The reason i received the letter is probably because i never sent in the initial financial aid form (the one that was connected to the admissions application), however, i did send in the CSS profile and was kinda late with the fafsa( the paper said it had not yet been processed)..... So if you people had trully taken care of business, (unlike I did) you have absolutely nothing to worry about.

yeah platinum, i did the same thing as you

However, one of the earlier posters brought up an excellent point, that there is no way financial aid would waste its time on financial aid applications of students who were gonna be rejected, esp this late in game?

Yeah, a part of me agrees, but im stating the worst case scenario and hoping for the best.....What you are saying makes perfect sense , and it was the first thought that crossed my mind when i received the letter that day but I have no clue what is going on in between depts....Tomorrow we will know though. Let's be sure to keep one another updated on the decisions as well as our fellow CCer's.

yea i agree

It would be great if that means we r in....I would start celebrating immediately.

I do find it kinda odd that we encountered the same problem and were able to come into contact with one another. What are the odds?

last night, i got a letter for finacial aid missing documents from penn. I assume they have already made decisions, so does getting a letter like that this late in the game mean I am in?

I predict that you'll at least be waitlisted.

All I know is that Penn is need-blind, so the two departments cannot communicate whatsoever.

[/quote]

I think they do communicate with each other. The Financial aid department cannot influence admissions, but admissions can influence the financial aid department.

"Perhaps only people who are accepted and are missing financial aid documents are notified? "

that's what i think...and hope. lol. I only sent in the FAFSA, which is probably why they sent me the letter as well.

But yeah, I don't think they would prepare financial aid packages for ALL the applicants, because that would be a waste of time and effort.

exactly my logic, but as platinum said, we will all see tomorrow if our speculation is correct

good luck all

HEy my mom called the admissions department and they said that admissions and the letter have nothing to do with the other. I'm Still not sure how to interpret this though.

I'll just try to think positively-

idk if they were connected, but i got into UPENN thanks God.

hey is the letter and the acceptance letter connected?

i got in too... so it looks like maybe? i don't know about these other people here.

I guess there is something relating the letter and admissions, because I was waitlisted... :1

I got accepted to Wharton and just a few days before I got a letter from Financial Office asking for missing documents. I mght be connected!

i got in too, after receiving the financial aid letter a couple of days before

I received the letter around March 21st and I was admitted to Penn as well. It just screams out to me that if additional documents are requested from you, it's a good sign (either acceptance or waitlist).

Its logical too. There is no way the finaid office is going to make packages (no matter how easy it is) for ~20,000 people and then ask everyone of them for missing things.

So i guess we have arrived at the conclusion that the letter was a precursor to the good news that we all have received!! Unless some people just have not posted.
