I just realized that I could have reported my AP scores on the common app. Do colleges now think I didn't take AP tests? Does this matter at all? Do I have to send them in officailly if I put down that I took them? I took three AP tests: Calc AB (5), Eng Lang (4), and APUSH (4). I also was in AP Physics B last year but I didn't take the test. Should I email all the colleges I applied to and tell them this?

I did the same exact thing and got accepted ED to my school. Haha I emailed them as soon as I saw my mistake and you should too!
Good luck!

If one chose not to self-report any scores, including AP, can that hurt one’s chances at all?

Most schools don’t consider APs in admission except in determining class rigor which will be evident from the transcript. Relax.

But is it better to report a 3 (or lower) to show that you at least made the effort to take the AP test? Or is it better to not report it so that it wouldn’t “devalue” your grades?

BIGZ,
As a rule of thumb, don’t report scores under a three. It can only hurt you. Besides, you won’t get college credit, so it can’t possibly benefit you. Although college admission officers are people too, they usually have a ton of applicants, and will only chose the “best.” Many people even chose not to report 4s, when they’re applying to Ivies and other highly ranked universities.

Don’t report a score that you yourself aren’t proud of.

If you self studied a course, then feel free to report the score if it’s over a three, as proof that you did it.

Should I not report my scores then since I didn’t take the physics exam and I got two fours? I sort of wanted to report them because I also made another mistake. I said I only took the sat once when I took it twice. But I sent both scores so I am not sure if I have to tell them. Here are the schools I applied at, will a four look bad at these schools?

4s looks good. You can send them or not - isn’t going to change the outcome. As others have said, your transcript shows your AP classes and grades. If you are sending an update (ideally with additional awards or other accomplishments), you can add the AP info at that time.
