I had a stage where I wanted to transfer to USF primarily because I thought I would benefit more from their grant-based financial aid, also during a time where I convinced myself I hated Gainesville.
However, I realized how much I loved the atmosphere of UF and how much I will benefit from the long-term in getting my bachelor’s degree from UF.
I know how it feels to question your decision, but the fact that you’re trying to really weigh your decision is a good idea, but worrying about it too much can cause much unneeded stress. Just see how you like it your first semester and go from there!

Thank you! I’m set on succeeding at UF. If I do end up disliking it, I will just transfer to another university. But for right now, I’m going to focus on my studies, and focus on enjoying UF, instead of wondering “what if.”

You absolutely made the right choice. Regardless of undergraduate rankings, which are only hampered by its 20.5:1 faculty ratio, UF has stellar graduate programs and that is a true measure of the depth and strength of its programs. Additionally, undergraduate research is very common at UF, with the university garnering over $600 million in outside research funding last year alone.

You are far better off at UF
