Did I Make A Mistake..........

.........................applying to Princeton ED? Im keep thinking that maybe I aimed a bit too high. I really love Princeton, which is why i chose to ED, but should I have chosen a more realistic school? People tell me that the best i can get is a deferral with my stats; i know i shouldnt listen to other people, but i cant help thinking about it. Im trying to find more reasonable schools for RD, i dont think i can rely on Princeton. what do u guys think? thanks.......

you are above the average chances for ED, imo...EC's stand out. although SAT is a tiny bit below average it should not hurt much

yea i had the same feeling. is my sat 1 the prob or sat 2? cause looking at the ranges, my sat 1 i thought were very well above average. i dunno what to think anymore lol. but thx fo ur response. :)

Your ECs/Awards are wonderful.
I think you have a great chance!
Don't think you made a mistake with ED, because I know we all think that sometimes. =)
Best of luck.

i guess you can consider your standardized test scores your weak department, though it isn't really WEAK in any sense.

ur EC's are nice. hope you wrote a compelling essay :)

i think the only iffy thing would be your standardized test scores but other than that you seem fine

thx a lot for ur responses. i also hope my essay was compelling, though im not depending on that too much to make me stand out. what i am really depending on to help me are my interests and the supplements/letters i sent to back my interests up. but i guess now im more comfortable with my decision, and even if i don't get in, i won't regret it. so thx for ur inputs and i wish you all luck too! :)

aww thats so sweet..... GO CCers! this is one of the reasonas why i do not regret Princeton being my firest choice......even the applicants are nice to each other....when one would have thought we should be competing..... GO PRINCETON! GO PRINCETON EDERS on CC!! lol

just had to clear that out of my system.... I really think you guys are great and it would be a blast if we all got into our well beloved school....oh well

It's ED. Why would you choose a "realistic" school, when you can just apply to those in the regular round? (Still, I do know one person who applied ED to a safety state school just to get the whole process over with.)

lol....yea whoamg has a point. ED's "meant" to be a "reachy" school.....in a way.....lol

wow that makes a lot of sense, i never thought about that. thx :)

but it should be a bit reasonable. you don't wanna "waste" your ED. for example, if you have a small (but possible) chance of making cornell or something, doing ED can give you the boost to get accepted. whereas, in RD you would probably get rejected. this has nothing to do with ur case, aoshi

But if you would rather go to Princeton than Cornell, then Princeton ED is the better choice.

yeap.....Ed is more of if you want to go to the school than your chances of entering....although its definitely not advicable to ED to a School that theres definitely no chance......

Eg- 1700 SAT1, 550 on all SAT2 lol.....and 2.9g.p.a...... and u dint save Africa from hunger....LOL!!!!

...........and you want to apply to princeton* forgot to add that

lol. well i guess everyone also worries about things like this, so at least im not alone thx guys :)

hey again. im not asking for my chances this time. i was wondering when Princeton starts reviewing candidates. I actually sent another sample of the asthma/smoking newsletter since the fall issue jus got published this week. I earned a new position (President) in this one which is why i sent it, just to give them a better sense of my involvement in the newsletter. I included a short letter requesting them to add this to my file, and explaining this supplement too. im jus wondering whether it may arrive AFTER they may have decided if im accepted (hopefully) or rejected. Thanks!

well, according to som calculations i did, I think they start reviewing applicants from December 2nd.

because they allow for nov tests to come which would arrive at princeton in dec 2nd. and they say that all interview would be done before dec1st and their reports would have been sent to princeton by then. I dont know really but....it only seems logically to officially start after Dec 1st.

On the other hand, they might not consider that information you gave them....unless as u imply, is an update to your application

But questbridhe applicants recieve their decisions december 1st...

If they waited until December to start looking over files, they would have practically no time to make their decisions! I think they probably have already started and will add SAT scores to files as they come in...maybe they are reviewing those files that are complete first. Aoshi--not sure if they will look at it or not, but my first instinct would be yes, they will consider it. The only people who know for sure are those in the admissions office!
