(sorry for starting so many new thread..)

Anyway, when I applied to ucsd, I picked Bioengineering: Premedical as my first choice and Pharmaceutical Chemistry as my second choice. I am now admitted to bioE: premed, which sounded like a great major to me. Until I started going through some pre-med websites. It seems to me that medical school does NOT want someone who goes through undergrad with the goal of getting into med school; instead, they want someone with passion for what they're learning and whatnot. Reading all these things made me worry that I had made the wrong choice in my major (doesn't that just scream "all i want is to go to med school"?).
BioE sounds like a fascinating subject to me, although, since I had little to no experience with the subject, I cannot say that I'm PASSIONATE about it. I looked up all the courses that I have to take, and some of them looked a little intimidating -- I'm scared that I'll end up with a bad GPA by going with this major. I do study hard and will work my butt off for that A, but I'm just worried that I'm not the "type of person" who will do well in engineering classes.
With that being said, would it be wise for me to switch major to pharmaceutical chemistry? By switching to a non-engineering major, I will be taking an extra two classes (doing Warren's PofC instead of Area Studies), which is sort of undesirable because I was hoping to finish in less than 4 years and save some $$$.

Thank you for reading. Any advice/feedback/suggestion/comment is greatly appreciated! :)
