did I make the right college decision?

I am a senior & have committed to University of the Sciences in Philadelphia for their doctor of pharmacy program. In six years, I'll be graduating with my doctorate of pharmacy and will be able to a pharmacist. Their program is stellar and was the first pharmacy school in the whole country. It's going to cost me $18,000, all which I have to pay with loans.

I am starting to regret my decision. I always hear how all the students do is study and do homework. I don't want to be miserable. I come from a bad family background, so this is my chance to get away and be happy somewhere else. Will this make me happy?

I started looking at Lafayette College, which is a school I could get accepted into and meets 100% of your financial need. I did the net price calculator and it said i would only have to pay $3,000 in loans... which is a ton better than USciences. And all the students seem so happy when I look up student reviews. However, they do not have pharmacy so I would have to major in chemistry and apply to a pharmacy school afterwards.

I just don't want to make a mistake. I've always wanted to become a pharmacist and go to school in a city. USciences is so perfect for me, but the price tag has made me wonder. It's causing great stress on my family members and I feel so terrible about it. I'm not sure if I should just drop USciences, take a gap year, and apply to non pharmacy schools that offer more financial aid. :c

For full disclosure my D is a rising junior at Lafayette College and loves it. Many people second guess their decision. No school is perfect. But if you want to be a pharmacist, you already got into a great program in a great city. Nobody can predict the future and nobody can predict where you will be happy, but it seems to me that you are in a great program for your desired career path in a great city.

thanks for your input… the $18,000 a year for USciences is just really making me wonder about my decision. I do love the school and its program… the money is just a major concern.
