So I just looked up my grade in Calc BC and I got a C+ on the first test. I’m completely disheartened and shocked. I got a 100 on a quiz about the same material, so I’m really confused. My teacher hasn’t handed the test back yet, so I don’t know what I did wrong. I only have two tests to bring my grades up and everyone keeps telling me this was the easiest test and it only gets harder. I’m starting to regret switching to BC. I would greatly appreciate some advice.
Nope. Its AP. My friend got a 1/15 on her first AP Physics Test but got a 5 on the exam. As long as you try your hardest you will succeed.
You need to schedule a time with your teacher to go over all of your mistakes on the test and figure out what you did wrong. The teacher will help you determine if it was careless mistakes, or whether you are missing something in understanding, and will be able to explain everything one on one. You need to resolve any misunderstandings of the material right away before the next test. You might be able to figure it out yourself when you get the test back, but if not, have this meeting with your teacher (and/or a tutor if one is available, or someone in the class who aced this test).
Thanks for the advice! I thought I had a good foundation because of my grade on the quiz and I felt pretty confident about the test, but I realize now that I probably made a lot of careless errors. Hopefully, I’ll be able to understand my mistakes on Tuesday when my teacher gives back the test.
The same thing happened to me this past week. Don’t worry, we have 18+ more weeks till the end of the semester, hopefully plenty of time for us to get our grades up
Aw, I hope so! Thanks for the words of encouragement. I’ve been stressing out because I’m a senior and really want to finish this semester strong for my application. But, hopefully, we’ll both make a turnaround!
