unfortunately the first semester of my freshman year i ended up getting a C in spanish 2 :(
but ever since then my grades have steadily been improving ( 2 B's sophomore year and straight A's so far in jr year)-
to put my grades into perspective, here's my jr year schedule:
ap chemistry
us history
ap stats
health
ap english
precalculus honors
i also did pretty well on my SAT (2230)
so will good universities-such as ucla, berkley, usc-overlook my C freshman year? could i still get into these schools?

You’re worried about one C freshmen year? I would say you have no reason to worry considering your SAT scores are pretty good. Don’t overthink this.

No way bro, all applicants who get accepted to these schools are perfect in every sense of the word. They got all As in school, perfect 2400 sats. If you think that anything less than perfection is acceptable, then you are doing high school all wrong!

OP, you are fine… you should ask your guidance counselor to point out how much you have matured since freshman year, etc. Trending up is always a good thing.
