Did I screw myself over by being too "liberal" in essay?!?!

Hello,
my name is Kevin and I'm new to College Confidential first of all.

On my Common Application essay, which I chose to write on a topic of my choice, I basically stated that I desired a career in business or a government position working for the economy so that I could help out those in need through my work, which I made analogous to my community service work. It sounds like I want the government to play a large role in the economic security of the people. I wanted to connect my future goal with what I was doing today, and I didn't realize that it sounds "liberal" after I submitted...

Am I screwed over if a conservative admissions officer reads my essay? I applied to Ivy League's + Stanford, Notre Dame. Does anyone have any idea if those schools are more left or right leaning?

Thank you for your time and I apologize if there is a thread covering this already.

Heh, I doubt it. Colleges are generally liberal-minded. Notre Dame’s the only one that’s conservative on that list.

Although I understand that it’s generally a good idea to avoid politically loaded topics, that really doesn’t sound like something too polarizing. I mean, you’re not trying to dictate what role the government should play in this country, you’re just saying that you would like to help others. I don’t think that’s something most would find objectionable, even people with more conservative inclinations.

I was going to post on this, but both previous posts pretty much cover anything I would have said. You should be ok.
