I know I posted something similar on a different board but this is Cornell specific.

Does anyone know if Cornell values AP scores that much when considering a student for admission? I got a 1 on APUS :-(I was sick)-: The 1 really doesn't match up with the rest of my scores. I am thinking about not showing my score if it will be a major deciding factor.

just have it withheld if you're so worried it's what, 15 bucks? or can you not withhold them after such and such a date?

Even so...I don't think they consider AP scores for admission. I included them on my resume, but I don't think they got anything official with my application because I didn't tell collegeboard to send them.

O thats good, I read somewhere that since there is NO official score report sent, I can write which ever scores I want, and not write which ever scores I wish not to send...true?

...But then again, don't college find it fishy that I took an AP course and I am not reporting the score? Maybe they will think I was sick or w.e.

yeah but they might think it very candid and believe you more all over your app on subjective stuff if you included APUS: 1 (became ill during exam, but did not cancel score) or something like that haha. They will see your transcript, so if theres a few random tests you didnt take that weren't senior year (obviously since they don't see senior APs till you're accepted) they might view that as suspicious. Or they might not...your call i dont know.

Basically, many people told me not to send the scores, and I am not going to send them (esp for $15)... but what if the application ASKS for the scores? I know Cornell has a separate section for AP scores. Do I totally ignore it if I dont want the adcom to see the score?

if you send it, just send in an extra letter of why you only got a 1 on your ap. I got a 360 or something that low on my math 1c (and i was applying as a math major!) and I just told them look i got 700+ on my math 2c, straight As in all my math courses and 100s on my math regents. i just missed a bubble, and my subsequent answers were all shifted. they really don't care that much if you have one score that's out of wack.
