My daughter is going to kill me if I did.
D applied to Ithaca College using the common app. She received a letter from Ithaca yasterday saying they have her app but have not received the $55 fee. D says she paid with a credit card online and prints out the page for me. I also go online and check my card activity which shows the payment. I print that out and call Ithaca. The lady in admissions is very nice and asks if I would please fax the common app printout and my cc printout. Without thinking I fax it over and the I realize that some of the other colleges she applied to are listed on both printouts. So now Ithaca has a partial list of the other schools she applied to. Im not sure if they ask this on the app, so I dont know if the would have this anyway.
Is this going to hurt her chances at all???? I hope not!!!!
I'm actually hoping that it may help her since the schools on the list are simillar to Ithaca, and are probably some of their "competitors" for top students.

It probably will make no difference at all. The person who makes sure the $ is paid probably is not an adcom, but is an administrative assistant with no input into admissions decisions except to make sure that the application fee has been paid.

Poor Yankeegirl, I know how you feel (how crazy out of control you feel!). You did fine, it is time for a glass of wine and a bowl of ice cream - sounds like a wierd combo, but you will fell much better after.

Thanks folks!!!
I just got a call from them to let me now they got the fax and it would be taken care of. I asked if the info I sent would be in her file, she told me no, once the app is marked paid, they will discard. I feel much better.
Wine & ice cream...hmmm, interesting.
Have a Happy Thanksgiving!

I swear Yankeegirl, in 6 months you will laugh about how irrationally nutsy this process makes you feel, but right now it is all too real. Good luck to your daughter and Happy Thanksgiving.
