Did I screw up?

My high school career has not gone as I planned. My GPA is not anywhere near my potential and my test scores aren't amazing. That being said, I still want to get in to finance but I'm not sure I'll be able to get in to a target school. Can someone please tell me if I can get in to ANY target school with the stats I have.

GPA: 3.55 :(
ACT: 31
SAT: 2190

EC'S:

President of stock market club since soph year
Founded a startup as a soph that has consistently generated 20k+ in revenue a year
DECA junior/senior year got to states both years
Co-Founded med club and has been vice president for two years
NHS member for senior year only

AP's:

Freshman year: our school doesn't allow any
Soph year: APUSH
Junior year: Econ, Psych, Honors Marketing
Senior year: English, Calc BC

Location: MI
Ethnicity: Asian (Indian)
Income: >100k

Like I said, my academic stats are lackluster but do you think there are any targets I could get in to? I'd really like to go to U of M (Ross) or NYU (Stern). Do you think there's a chance I could get in there?

If that gpa is unweighted you should be able to get into Umich. Not sure about Ross Preferred though.

It’s actually weighed lol. However the weight isn’t very significant. Unweighted is 3.5. Are you sure I can get in to U of M? I thought it was more selective than NYU.

You should be able to get into Michigan in-state. Do well your first year, it’s not that hard to transfer into Ross.

yeah Michigan is a very slight reach. Do well on your essays and you should be fine.

I agree with KingOfTheStreet.

On a separate note, how are you generating 20k in revenue? Just out of personal curiosity

It’s not like a lawn mowing service or anything like that. It’s a legitimate tech startup that has the potential to be a million dollar company so 20k isn’t that outrageous. It took a lot of hard work, some connections, and A LOT of luck.

That’s pretty cool man, I program a little bit as well.

I realize you might not want to post the whole story online for identification purposes, but if you’d feel comfortable PMing me that’d be great. I’m pretty curious what exactly your product does

U Mich has a 40% acceptance rate, also, your test scores are pretty good so I think you will get in. Maybe not as a first year into Ross because that is extremely selective. But almost 70% of the people in Ross apply after freshman year. Most get in… SO just aim for U Mich and then you can just apply after freshman year into Ross.

My SATs and ACTs were a bit higher (2240/33) but my UW gpa was around the same (if not lower). I got into Ross, preferred admission, and I’m from NY. My ECs were also less than stellar so you might have a chance.
