Did I totally screw up my UC app?!

So I could be freaking out for no reason but...

I was accepted to UCB as a Spring admit. I previously attended a four year university in New York and have spent the last year at De Anza. I accepted my admissions to Berkeley as a Spring transfer and thought all I had to do was make it through my last few classes with A's. No problem right?

Well I realized today that when entering my grades from my four year institution on my transcript that I did not include the two classes that I withdrew from. One class was a GE and I ended up retaking it the next semester. The other class was a literature class that counted toward my foreign language requirement but could more or less have been considered an elective. Neither were considered major courses. However, my conditions for admission states that if any of my reported information differs from the official transcripts that my admissions may be rescinded. Was reporting a W for a class even an option, or am I freaking out for no reason?! HELP!!

(By the way, I'm calling the Office of Admissions first thing tomorrow...but I'm in panic mode right now!)

were these classes that you withdrew from your spring semester?

No, they were classes that I withdrew from in my freshman and sophomore years of college in New York. I withdrew from one class during the Winter Quarter at De Anza but was told by another UC to simply update my application. I’ve heard most schools don’t care about W’s, but I don’t want them to think I was withholding information with the intent of increasing my chances.

You should be ok. Just right a thorough explanation and you should be fine. Good luck!

Let us know how it goes tomorrow! Just curious, did you go to NYU?

Thanks grindallday! I’ve talked to a few of my friends who are Berk students and they don’t seem to think it’s a huge deal, but i’m concerned all the same.

I <3 Cougars–No, unfortunately! I went to Hofstra University on Long Island…it’s a terrible terrible school. If I was at NYU I doubt I would have transferred!

Ive seen few friends got accepted into Cal and got rescinded after reporting the fact that they are currently taking one different non-major IGETC class. I think you should call admissions offfice immediately.

Just an update: I emailed my admissions adviser and she said she had to discuss the situation with management. At this point it could go either way, but I feel that they might at least consider cases on an individual basis.

College012–That’s terrible, and honestly, makes no sense to me. Were they able to contest or appeal that decision?
