I just got my interview request. And I am wondering if most ppl got it also, and does interview really matter?

They'll interview you if they have someone in your area with the time. It's not a big deal and it won't be an impact on your application (unless you're applying for the Architecture or Hotel School). If you don't get an interview, it's not a big deal either. It just means they didn't find anyone.

well, i think there will be more or less an impact (whether it is big or small). But then, I wonder what percent of the applicants will be interviewed?

Again, that's entirely irrelevant because whether or not you get interviewed has nothing to do with the strength of your application. If you're in NY or CA, they can probably find someone to interview you. If you're in Podunk, Kansas, maybe not. But, Cornell will accept you anyway w/o an interview.

I understand that u can get accepted either way. But then doesn't the interviewer writes a report to Cornell about you, which if you did well on the interview, might slightly increase your chance.

So if I live in an area where there are definitely plenty of alumni, and I don't get called for an interview.. should I be worried?

Do these invites come in by e-mail? How soon after you get your applicantID?

Not really. If you really want an interview, at some of Cornell's regional events you can request one. It's basically a chance for you to find out more about the school.

So they don't actually write a report about you to Cornell?

No, the members of CAAAN who interview you do actually write a report that is submitted to Cornell and included with your application materials.
