Did not self-report AP Scores, sent Official Score Report?

So,

I did not realize that the Common App had a section for reporting AP Scores until after I submitted the application. I assumed that Harvard would get my AP Scholar Award/Scores with an Official Score Report, so I sent that.

Will they receive my scores? Is there any way to contact Admissions to confirm?

No. When you request an Official AP Score Report be sent to a college, the College Board automatically sends your AP scores directly to a college’s Registrar’s Office, as AP scores are added to a student’s college record when they matriculate so the student can receive advanced placement credit. For the purpose of Admissions, it’s a complete waste of time and money to send an Official AP Score Report to a college (sorry). Unfortunately, the College Board is a for-profit company and does not notify students of this when student’s request an Official AP Score Report. That’s why every Admissions Office asks students to self-report their AP scores on the Common Application.

At this point, your application will be considered without your AP scores. The College Board should have sent you a copy of the Official AP Score Report which they sent. Your best recourse would be to snail mail a copy of your Official AP Score Report to Admissions explaining that you forgot to self-report your scores on the Common Application and to please add the AP scores from your Official Report to your file.

@gibby
I called the Admissions office, and they told me to add the score report to my Applicant Portal.

^^ Ok, that’s the way to go then.

@DrDorias I just made the exact same mistake, how do you add the score report to your applicant portal?
