First off, Happy Thanksturkey Day!
Upon reviewing my application for ED, I came upon the realization that rather than selecting “graduating high school senior with college credit”, I selected “graduating high school senior WITHOUT college credit”. To be blunt, will this in any way affect my chances of being admitted? I know that we report our classes and give our official transcript so I do not expect it to be a problem. I just wanted some reassurance

Ap classes aren’t college credit. College credit is if you took classes at a local college.
^ Except good scores on the corresponding exams can give you college credit. Perhaps that’s something to ask the admissions offices.
@Gjjfcmkfb: Call admissions and see what they say. If you put the AP classes and grades on your CSU application, they will know you took the classes.
@andrewmdona: For the CSU application, if you took AP classes these are considered for college credit.
From CSU Mentor FAQ:
You can earn college credit for completing AP examinations with a score of 3 or better or by passing higher-level International Baccalaureate examinations with passes of 4 or higher.
So if I have AP exam with score greater than 3, I should choose “graduating high school senior with college credit”? Please confirm. Thanks.
My counselor told me AP classes don’t count.
Some schools allow dual enrollment registration with a local college or university. That will transfer as college credit. AP will not. It is possible for a class to be both. In that case use it which ever way is strongest.
On my application I put that I am graduating hs with some college credit. I passed the APUSH exam, but I also took an online college class for English and earned 4 credits from that.
Online and dual enrollment bring credits in, AP does not. They will give college credit for AP, but only AFTER you are enrolled. Make sense.

"Graduating high school senior with college credit” means you:

If I selected “Graduating high school senior with college credit” because I passed some AP exams, am I good, screwed, or is it not that big of a big deal?
@humanacidtrip: According the CSU Mentor application information, if you have passed your AP exams then you should be marking “Graduating high senior with college credit”. That is what my 2 son’s and neice marked when they applied. It should be no big deal either way, since SLO will decide what credit you get.
Can someone give me his/her opinion if my chances of admission are anyway affected? Some reassurance besides Gumbymom would be nice. I don’t they think they are because I’m aware our classes are calculated into the MCA score and whether we took AP classes will affect that. Or so I hope…
I would say you would be fine. I do not think your admission will be at risk because of this.
My son also checked “graduating high school senior WITHOUT college credit” even though he has passed/will pass several AP exams. We called Admissions (after submitting the application) with some other questions and this issue came up. The Admissions Advisor we spoke with said he could/should have checked “graduating high school senior with college credit” based on his AP exams, but that it is not a consideration for admission so it wouldn’t matter. He said once they request transcripts and other documents (after being accepted and after graduation), that the AP credit would be applied, but that the issue of “graduating high school senior with or without college credit” had absolutely no bearing on evaluation for admission. Good to know. I misunderstood the AP. In any case, the counsellors are great at making the most efficient application of credit whether it comes from AP, dual enrollment or regular enrollment.
