Did Palin Change Your Vote?

I wanted to start a thread to see the impact that Palinactually has on people's choices between Obama and McCain.
Bc it seems lkeall the ppl who say she was a bad pick are the ones who were not going to vote for McCain anyway, and the one's who say she was a good pick are those who were voting for him anyway. So state your opinion in this format:

Pick: Good or Bad or Unsure
Pre-Palin Vote: McCain or Obama
Post-Palin Vote: McCain or Obama

I'll go first:

Pick:Unsure (have to wait to hear what she says tomorrow, which will probably be the most important speech of her political career)
Pre-Palin: McCain
Post-Palin: McCain.

Pollingreport and Rasmussen have already done polls. The disgruntled Hillary voters that McCain was trying to pick up with his pick are now less likely to vote for him than before.

I suppose we could keep this going this way (including my vote):

Pre-Palin: McCain 1
Post-Palin: McCain 1
Pre-Palin: Obama 1
Post-Palin: Obama 1

I voted for Hillary in the primary. I voting for McCain in Nov.

That’s probably not the best way to do it because then, if more people reply, it would be harder to get an accurate idea. For example, say you had:

Pre-Palin: McCain 41 Obama 56
Post-Palin: McCain 39 Obama 58

That could be two people going from McCain to Obama, or three people going from McCain to Obama and one going from Obama to McCain or any other combination with a net result of -2 McCain +2 Obama.

^yikes, good point.

nvm then!

pre-palin: unenthusiastic McCain
post-palin: donated and enthused!!

I don’t think he was going after any voter other than voters who don’t preach things one way and then appoint themselves judge, jury and executioner.

I also think that the more she gets bashed- the more it will rouse the silent majority!!!

McCain’s aides have admitted that he was after the bitter Hillary voters with Palin… “We either get Hillary’s voters and we win, or we don’t. It’s not a mystery.”

Pre-Palin- Undecided, leaning heavily toward Obama
Post-Palin- Still undecided, leaning towards McCain.

Pre-Palin, I was an Obama supporter like I am now, but was very comfortable with the idea of McCain being president (although obviously not my first choice), but now that she is the VP I am petrified of her becoming the President if something happens to McCain and now very Anti-McCain/Palin.

Based on what I’ve seen and read, Peggy Noonan is right – and so is Ben Stein. These are two conservatives, by the way, though not in the Christian right-wing mold:

Ben Stein interviewed by Soledad O’Brien:

Oh, and I’ll answer the question:

Pre-2001, I was a McCain admirer leaning heavily toward supporting him.

2003-2008, I lost confidence in McCain because of Iraq and tax cuts for the rich, but still liked him personally a lot and thought he was pandering but might return to his former self.

Pre-March 2008, I was undecided between HRC and Obama

Post-March 2008, I was decided toward Obama, but still felt favorably toward McCain with the huge exception being his Iraq War policy.

Post-June 2003, as I learned more about who McCain has actually become since 2001, I have grown increasingly horrified at the prospect of a McCain presidency, but would have grown comfortable with the notion that maybe he’d rediscover his old self.

Post-Palin, I am convinced McCain is reckless and doesn’t have a clue, and I am actually really afraid that he has a chance to become president.

^ That more or less describes me, too.

Obama would be a better president than McCain, who would be a better president than Hillary.

Meaning: Obama would increase the deficit less than McCain, who would increase it less than Hillary if she had won.

Palin? I think she’s completely qualified to be vice president. McCain and Obama haven’t changed. Please don’t change your vote either way based on Palin; she will have little to do with the way the government is run, and if McCain DOAed she’d continue his policies most likely.

What do you base that on? The fact that she disagrees with many, many of his policies?

[The Associated Press: Palin has not pushed creation science as governor](http://ap.google.com/article/ALeqM5gV5jvU52RD3WBflzbmSu5l6zwOqAD92V3VQG0)

For one thing, she’s a Republican. Second, she’s not an idealogue that screams Democrats are bad, the way Obama ties Bush, the Republicans, and McCain together.

Remember, it is Democrats controlling congress, pushing bills to Bush, with the lowest approval record ever.

Heck, she even appointed Democrats and Independents, not just Republicans, when she could.

What she believes in her heart and how she would rule are not analogous. Similarly, Obama does not believe in abortions (hypothetically, I don’t know if he ever would), he would not impose his preferences on his constituents.

Besides that, it’s really ridiculous, at the fervor of Sarah being in charge when it’s McCain running.

But McCain would be the oldest president to take office were he to win and his health is not the greatest… McCain only has an 85% chance to live to his second inauguration based on age ALONE and when you factor in his personal medical history it is quite a bit lower. Like it or not, Sarah stands a very real chance of being president and thus is a way bigger issue than Biden.

yes, and Obama is more likely to be assasinated than the average president, but I don’t hear many people saying they’re deciding their vote based on biden.

And more likely to be assassinated =/= likely to be assassinated. Whereas McCain IS likely to die - morbid but true.

For one thing, McCain is a sharp man. When he speaks, I see deep reflection and true intellect. True sincerity. I have never been in awe of Obama’s “intellectual” speak with his long words and little point.

I won’t fall in line for his oratory. He only says what we knows, funny man.

He can’t even answer a simple question. On a question that his campaign is using as a wedge issue against Sarah Palin. It’s above his pay grade to answer when life begins?

The issue he would first sign as president?

So?
McCain has his 95 year old mother rooting for him, and he’s a smart sincere man. Obama has no semblance of original thought, regurgitates off of the teleprompter, stammers without it, and can’t even take a hard position on the issue he would first take as president.

Oh yeah, I think Palin is more qualified than Obama. Obama doesn’t think so [Hot Air Blog Archive Obama’s answer on experience: But I’m such a great campaigner!
