did senioritist affect you in college?

I feel like I have a really bad case of senioritis this year. Although I still get A's, I never feel like doing my homework and always want to hang out with my friends. For those of you in college, did your laziness during senior year make it hard to adjust to work in college?

yes :( (character limit)

It didn't for me. When college started, I jumped right into it, enjoyed it even

It shouldn't. The hype of graduating and all that will have worn off by the time summer is over. You will have had 3 months of not doing any schoolwork to get you rested up and ready to be back in work mode when August rolls around. Besides, it's like Gold said, when you get to college, you want to jump in and do the work. I, however, am finishing my freshman year with a bad case of End-of-the-year-burnout-itis.

Frostburg is right. I'm in a different mode: I was just accepted to a top 15 school from a 4th tier so I'm having a bad case of "damn, these grades won't transfer so why do I care"-is.

Although, I'm pretty bummed about leaving friends that I didn't plan on making this year.

To answer the OP: The 2.5 months before the year starts should prep you enough to overcome that laziness. You'll feel yourself WANTING to go to college (especially if you're leaving home), if only just to experience what the social life will be like.

Yes, I feel as if I'm lazier this semester than last. My grades definitely show it. :(

Hey! I have 3 finals exams coming up in the next 2 days, one tomorrow at 8am actually, and what am I doing? Commenting on CollegeConfidential instead of studying! Arr...

i am currently a senior and i barely go to class now and pass my classes with b's/c's and i usually get a's.

i plan on taking classes over the summer to get me back into full swing.

i am so scared of this, lol. i feel SO unmotivated to do anything and i'm afraid once fall rolls around senioritis will carry over and i'll be just as unmotivated and as a result, fail out of college...

I wouldn't do that if it's not necessary for getting your HS diploma or in keeping your acceptance at your university. It'll make you feel as if you didn't have as much time for having fun and doing things that are not school related over the summer. You have to have down time from academics at some point, or you may not perform as well as you could in the fall. Whether you feel it or not (I really didn't), going off to college is a huge adjustment, and the transition will not be made easier if you are tired out from taking summer classes.
