Does it seem like alot more kids from your school got accepted this year than last?
More summer and liberal arts admits when last year there were so many CAP'd?
I'd read that Penn State had underestimated the number of people who would enroll on May 1 last year and had thousands more students than they could accomodate.
Does anyone think that UT may have done the same?

no--Ut know what they're doing, trust me

i find it weird that three people from my school (which is btw wayyyy out of state) and they all were admitted. really, my school is pretty mediocre so its extremely weird that 3 out of the 1500 or so out-of-state came from a little ole school in maryland.

My friend and I were the only ones to apply from our school out-of-state and were also accepted. Doesn't really mean they over accepted, but you never know.

Thanks for the responses.

Would any in-state students/parents like to add?

Texas state residents from your HS admitted vs. CAP

2006 vs 2007?

More?
Less?
Same?
A CC phenomenon with so many smart people posting?

UT took more of a holistic approach this year than anything, said the admissions director I talked to.

i think about 9% of students are out of state so if you think about it, its not wierd. Look at how many in state student are accepted, now look at how many people said they were out of state that got in i can recall ten total (i know thats not the actuall number im just saying) therefore it makes sense.....
