<p>Hey guys, I'm a rising senior looking to apply at the University of Michigan. I was flipping through their admissions website today to see if they had any essay supplements and I'm kind of confused by whether they switched over to the common app and have supplements, switched to the common app and don't have supplements, or are keeping their current application form. The Office</a> of Undergraduate Admissions: Applying page provides the application form for the class of 2014, which basically has all the information on the common app plus a few more essays, but it also provides a link to the common app. Could anyone possibly clear up my confusion? Thanks for any help! =]</p>

<p>i dont think it will be actually, because last year the common app had a diversity essay as an option.</p>
<p>Really? I don’t know…even still it would dumbfound me if UM didn’t have a required diversity supplemental, considering the importance diversity is given at UM.</p>
<p>U of M has already released their 2 supplemental essays which can be found on their website. There IS one about diversity, which sucks as I can’t think of any good response to the question :</p>

<p>yeah i had difficulty with the diversity essay last year since i am a upper-middle class white male living in a somewhat rural and suburban area. i ended up saying how certain experiences, like my high school, would help me to bring diversity to the school</p>

Now that I look at it, I believe UMich wants you to answer about diversity, but they provide some alternatives (such as intellectual heritage as opposed to ethnicity). <p>I honestly don’t even remember what I wrote about as it was a lot of BS. I think I wrote about the culturally-inflated city of New York and compared it to Hong Kong. Just think of it… and take some time so it’s in the back of your head for awhile if nothing pops up right away. Eventually you’ll find something or find the courage to BS it =)</p>
