I'm taking the SAT this Saturday. Although they say to leave your phones at home, are you able to bring your phone as long as its concealed and completely off. I'm concerned about how to get home after the test is done. Did any of you guys being your phone? Do they search you? Are you able to bring a bag in the test site and place it against a wall?

Almost everyone I know brought their phone to SATs. As long as you don’t make it obvious the moderators won’t care that you have one. Just make sure it’s off and not out until the entire test is done and you are out of the building. Good luck!

Sent from my ADR6400L using CC

My son didn’t take his phone. I arrived early to pick him up and waited in the parking lot for him. The tests begin and end at specified times, so you can make arrangements in advance.

Some moderators will care, and some will collect them and keep them in the front of the room. One student on CC had his test invalidated because he picked up his phone from the desk and called his parents during a break. Don’t do that.

A boy at my daughter’s ACT exam in the fall was kicked out of the room for having his cell phone with him during the test. He forgot to turn off the ringer. I wouldn’t risk it!

Turn off the ringer and the cell phone during testing. Place it in a ziplock bag under your desk and don’t touch it until the test ends. you’ll be fine.

if it goes off they are very strict but just be careful and turn it off and you wont have any problems.

if you leave it home, just borrow a friends but i wouldnt bother to leave it honestly…

Right before my ACT Test began, they told everyone to take their phones out and turn them off. What I would recommend is turning the phone off once you walk into the building. I’m pretty sure that they realize the students are going to have their phones with them, but just don’t use it or bring it out in front of them.

I did, but I took the battery out just to be extra sure.

When I took my son to the SAT, he heeded the proscription on phones, and I arranged to meet him outside. As I was waiting for him, everyone exiting, it seemed, was whipping out a phone.

If you bring your phone TURN AND KEEP IT OFF INSIDE THE BUILDING. You never know if a friend is just going to call you spontaneously.

^^^ To the person who said to take out the battery.
I have an iPhone…would be quite difficult totals it out. Lol

Thank you for all the advice. I’ll bring it and turn it off before I leave the car. I’ll wear a watch so I can keep track of the time. :)

Do the moderators take it before the test?
