Did you decide based on accepted student's day?

My D decided on William and Mary based on Accepted Students Day, plus an overnight visit last week. We ran into many students yesterday who were deciding between W&M and one other school (mostly, but not entirely, UVA). For those of you who may have attended, did it help you decide; on what basis?

the students' enthusiasm did move my propensity to UVa a little bit.

I'm still having a hard time to decide.

It helped me realize that I like W&M more than UVA. But now I'm still deciding between W&M and Davidson.

My daughter decided as well. Her real choice was between UVA and W&M. Though my sons are UVA grads, W&M just seems a better fit for her.

From OP:

The school my daughter was deciding between was Virginia Tech (residential honors)

Did she decide prior to yesterday, smdur? My daughter has a good friend deciding between VT honors and UVA. VT was her first choice but it may change now.

Yes, she decided on Accepted Students Day, Saturday; but by Sunday was still wavering. Her best friend, who will study engineering, almost definitely will do residential honors at Tech; she and her parents believe that security will be even better in the future, and the program has some great features. So my D started wavering the next day, and was very upset by the Tech tragedy yesterday...she was home from school because winds had knocked out power at her high school; she couldn't stand to watch TV but kept up with the news online. While online, she learned of a couple of friends from a summer program who will be going to W&M, which may solidify that choice. Whichever she decides will have my blessing. Good luck to your daughter's friend; both are fine schools/program, but very different campus cultures.
