did you follow the saga- "Opera goes to Penn Station in Search of Rankings?"

seems like new law school rankings were available yesterday PM, as a newstand in Penn Station (nyc) starting selling the USNWR Graduate Ranking magazine a few days early.
some kid posts a partial list that he saw at Penn station while waiting for his train to LI. Of course no one believes him and thinks it is all a flame as the magazine isn't supposed to be available until 4/23.
anyway to make a long story short- one of the long time posters from TLS and another poster from XOXO (or something like that) decide to race down to Penn station and get a copy to verify the authenticity of the list.

well it was a funny read. It was like a combo of the amazing race and 24 as the time was ticking down to see who can get the info first.
anyway- if one wants to link it up- or check out TLS.

--and no real great surprises. The T - 14 remain the T-14.

Leaked USNWR 2009 Law School Rankings:

Got it from the FSU thread.

There were a bunch of surprises. Several schools dropped from the T100/ranked group into the unranked/tier three (i.e. Syracuse). With the inclusion of PT stats GW dropped eight spots and Fordham dropped four. Unfortuantely, the T14 still stands. I wanted Gtown to drop out only because it would cause a law school forum apocalypse.

I don’t know if the inclusion of PT stats was the sole reason for the drop at GW or Fordham, though it most probably is a contributing factor. PT stats didn’t seem to affect Georgetown in the same manner. I guess that topic will be discussed more once the magazine is widely circulated and every detail will be analyzed by all.
