Did you get a call from UCLA???

i meant to say she had a very pleasant / attractive voice...

am i exaggerating? probably. but it's only because i felt all left out for not getting called haha up until I checked my voicemail 5 minutes ago.

You guys SUCK! Why'd I get a dude?! I'm gonna go cry in a corner now ... :(

LOL :p

me too. RedTapePatrol.....ToT

The thing that I found weird was...why would they say "scholarships for INCOMING transfer students"? why not...for transfer students who have applied for admission or something of that sort...I'm over analyzing I know lol, but they should be careful with their wording. I mean, this is a big deal for most of us.

Yes..........because I know, I am not going to get admitted. Biz Eco is so impacted......T.T

Regents is given to transfer too. My buddy got his Regents letter a while ago.

just wondering...has anyone who has over a 3.75 NOT been contacted?
also, is there is a similar thread to this one from last year?

Wow lol I completely skipped over the word "incoming". Either way, I think it's better to hope for the best but at the same time prepare for the worst. It's really not worth it to get too hyped up, because I think most of us know of the possibility of still getting rejected. I personally need to keep my hopes realistic so that I don't end up crashing completely.

But why would they call us and let us know about the scholarship if it's not for certain that we got in? Wouldn't they be wasting their time going through scholarship applications from students who didn't get admitted?

While I'm at it...why on Earth would they want sooo many people applying for these scholarships when more than half aren't even going to get in...(only about 45% of transfers from cc actually get in UCLA Undergrad Admissions: Profile of Admitted Transfer Students, Fall 2007 )...they would have to go through a bunch of applications from people who haven't even been accepted...doesn't make sense to me..anyway goodluck everyone...I hope this means what I think it does for all of us: )

if one got Regents letter, it means you are in!!!
if one got scholarship invitation, it means you are almost there, the posibility of being rejected is still exist.

God I wish they hadn't called but simply send an e-mail. It makes waiting even worse.

Amen to that.

45% acceptance rate only indicate the rate for the whole students who applied. I think students who have GPA 3.75 or above may have relatively higher rate of acceptance.

So did anyone decide to apply yet?

No!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

no, i didn't get a phone call. I have a 3.98 GPA.... =/ phil major.

wth. that's all i'll say for that.

I forgot to mention, I applied to UCLA with a 3.5 GPA and still got the call today, so they may not be doing these calls by eligibility (but by admission??)

did you tell her your GPA is 3.5? If you did, what's her response?

but UCLA is one the top 50 universities in the world.
