Did you get in?

and could you link the article Jackie? Thanks.

i'm in! =)

this is the article:
Stanford offers admission to 738 students through its early action admission program

Thanks slee. And congrats. And 738 out of 4551, that's about 16%, so that's actually higher than their overall admit rate which is like 11%. Interesting.

for those of you sending letters to express continued interest, where exactly are you supposed to send these things? Or is it better not to send at all, and just update info on the online form?

Deferred! :] Hahahah, could be worse. I'm not giving up yet, at least. ;]

How many people did they defer?

deferred, but im an asian male XD

Accepted, ftw!

Accepted. Any indians / international students get accepted?

I'm Indian; deferred.

one of my friend got into Stanford. He is black and really smart. he got 2180 on SAT man. 730 math, 720 reading, 730 writing. SAT II: Chemistry 770, Math Level II 770, Weighted GPA 4.5, Unweighted 3.8. He's done National Institute of Health Internship. And he lived in China for 3 years. and for PSAT he was awarded National Achievement Semi-Finalist(1 of 1600). He has even better stats than some other Nerd or Geek who studies 24/7 Asians ( got no life)

oh also he likes Biology and Chemistry

I am sorry but to say that Asians are geeks and nerds and that they study 24/7 is absurd. That is such a big generalization and stereotype.

Most of the time it is true though.

Those are the Asians who DON'T get into Stanford. Of course your friend would beat out those people. (And he lived in China, how cool!)

But there are certainly other types of Asians - the ones that do get into Stanford and don't study 24/7.

Deferred.

Although I didn't really think about it before, I realized that it was probably predictable. I was an exchange student to Japan last year (no grades for junior year), and this year is my first opportunity to take AP classes (my school doesn't offer them, I have to take them online), so I can understand why they'd be interested in seeing my first semester grades before making a decision.

Otherwise, if you're interested:
2160 SAT, 770 Lit, 670 US Hist., 670 World Hist., 640 Math 2.
3.957 uw (my school doesn't weight) from an extremely uncompetitive school, we've never sent anyone to HYPS.
White Male from rural Washington state.

accepted. life is good haha
i think 10% got deferred?

Accepted. I like to think that I did well in high school. 1st in my class until three weeks ago, good ec's, good essays...

^^^ mercruz, everyone knows you did not do well in high school. we all know you cheated on every test. frankly, you never deserved the #1 rank. all you did was ta about 6 classes and take the joke ap's.

... jk ...
