WAHOO!

NO. I got into Brandeis, Fordham, Stevens, BU, RPI, and a few others. I got waitlisted for Macaulay Honors College and NYU. And I am ****ed to say the least. Everywhere I go, I about that one kid who got into MHC/NYU and they have lower sat iis and sats than me. Three black kids got accepted into ivies because they’re black. Yeah, again all three had worse scores than me.

My scores
GPA: 95.4
SAT:
math:740
cr: 720
writing: 660

SAT ii:
physics: 710
math ii: 740

Worked as a math tutor at Kumon for two years paid ( I would NEVER work unpaid and that’s what life is like, nothing is free)
built four of my own computers from scratch
petitioned for congressman mcmahon (yeah I actually supported him, I didn’t do it for freakin credits or w/e)

Yeah, load of bs. I am filled with more and more hate every passing day. Im hopelessly waiting for NYU to take me off their *ing waitiing list, but i doubt that’s happenign anytime soon. They’ll probably take those kids who did *ty ecs like art and walking for some worthless freaking charity that they don’t care anything for, and… oh I digress. I wish better luck for the rest of you who, more specifically to those of you who have been slighted as I have been.

“Three black kids got accepted into ivies because they’re black. Yeah, again all three had worse scores than me.”
^That was a stupid remark.

You got into some good schools, be happy. Don’t be a looser.

“They’ll probably take those kids who did ****ty ecs like art”

Woah now. NYU Tisch is one of the best arts schools in the country. I was accepted there, probably because I’m dedicated to my craft and want to work hard do something with my life that is fulfilling in all respects. I’m sure that’s more impressive than the countless money-mongerers they get apps from every year. Good god. Maybe they didn’t accept you because you come across as an extremely negative, haughty, and unappreciative individual.

^
I agree.

Dartmouth, accepted.

I got rejected Stanford, but was accepted at Penn. After visiting, Penn is really is the place for me. I only wanted to go to Stanford because it was close to home

@ amandub17: I’m tempted to call you out as a ■■■■■ because I just replied to another of your threads where you were asking about the potential negative consequences of getting an A-, and also just saw another thread in which you asked a question relating to AP Bio (which you now claim to have received a score for). Plus the fact that “settling for” Dartmouth just sounds plain stupid, period…

Back to the original subject of this thread. My favorite colleges had always been tied between Harvard, Stanford, and Columbia (though I liked H and C a little better than S), and those were initially the only 3 top schools I intended to apply to before my mom stepped in and insisted that I also try Yale, Princeton, MIT, and Penn. But I got flat-out rejected from all of them and am currently waitlisted at Columbia, which I’d be THRILLED to attend if I was accepted. Basic stats include a 3.8 UW GPA, 2350 SAT I, 750/790/800/800/790 SAT IIs, 4s and 5s on 7 AP tests, fairly uncommon high school circumstances (attending 3 high schools in 4 years), certifiably fluent in five languages, a ton of awards relating to my interests in foreign language, writing, and history, as well as a few miscellaneous others (such as AMC 12 school winner).

Harvard and Duke

3.93 GPA, 2330 SATI 800+760 SATII, 9 AP’s, AIMEx2, CMOx1, nationally ranked table tennis player, sports columnist.

SAT 2: 800 800
Full IB candidate

Valedictorian

4 years varsity basketball, math club, travelling (to over 20 countries), piano, internship, tutoring, etc.

Rejected from: Harvard Yale Princeton

Going to: Brown. I love Brown and it would have been one of my very top choices if it were need-blind for internationals. Since I did not apply for FA I will have to pay full price… still absolutely love the school though :)

And how exactly was that a stupid remark? Can you explain it to me in better terms. Sure I’ll admit that I’m not ivy material but neither are they, not by a long shot. We all could choose to live in fairy land and blissfully ignore this affirmative action bullocks, or we can realize how ****ing stupid the system is and how one race is given preference over another, as reparations for events that took place centuries ago. I’m not Ivy material, but it boils my blood to see someone who boasts and brags when they, in truth, are further away from Ivy material than I am. Trust me when I say how unfair affirmative action is. Im not a genius but im not an idiot, Im an above average fellow and I know a lot of asians, caucasians, w/e are being cheated out of what’s rightfully there’s.

Brown!

I think Brown was a long shot, and it has been my dream school I just wanted to give a shot. But I got into BU, which was second on my list so I’m pretty damn happy about it. :)
