is there a way to check to see if all the parts of my application have made it to the college? i'm sending some stuff online and some by mail, so it will all arrive at different times. can i check online to see if the school has it or do i have to call/email them?

I think they will email you when they recieve materials.

And if they are getting close to reading and portions are missing, they'll contact you or your school. It's not as if there's an "auto delete" button or some evil troll shredding all apps not postmared by Jan 1, you know. LOL

Good luck to you.

^ I think I've seen a few of those trolls lurking the back doors of the admission offices...

Put a stamped, self addressed post card in with your materials. On the back write a note asking the Admissions Office to put your card in the mail when they receive your materials. Be sure to write a note on the bottom so that you know what piece was received (teacher rec #1, etc.) Only problem with this system is that some schools are better than others at returning the post cards.

Many schools have a website for you to log into and they will list the parts of your application that they have received, do that before calling.

So just to be clear- I can go to bed? The dead line is tomorrow?

Hope you slept. Admissions offices are used to pieces of the application going missing. One of my son's teacher recommendations was misplaced by his ED school, probably because she sent it considerably earlier than the application and supplement went in. They just never met up--so the college sent a postcard and we fax'd it the next day. This was a few days after the deadline, and wasn't a problem. He got in!
