Did you get taller while in college? Because I've heard that guys don't stop growing until about 21 (which is the year one finishes college). I'm around 5''8, and hope to up a few inches - ideally to 5''10, maybe even six feet. What diet and exercises do you recommend for maximum growth? I've already started drinking milk and sleeping more, but what else?

How tall is your dad? Your mom? I would say your height would come from your father’s side in most cases. Just look at the taller of the two.

You don’t need to look on a forum to get an idea, haha.

My mom’s 5’'5, and my dad died of lung cancer when I was five years old. I always remember than he was towering over me - maybe because all my memories of him are when I was kid - but I can’t measure his exact height unless I go dig out his grave and measure his skeleton (even then I would have to estimate how much of a height difference the skin and muscles on his head and feet gave him).

I believe that height is a combination of environmental factors and genetics. I’m trying to max out what I can get from these environmental factors. I’ll do anything to get taller. Even take growth hormone, if you can tell me where to get it.

Or you could… Ask your mom how tall he was? Seems easier than digging him out of his grave or posting complete bs to a reasonable question.

You need to accept your body.

My 95 year old grandma can remember how tall her husband was, and he died 65 years ago, and she was 11 years younger than him.

So your mom should probably remember.

It really comes down to genetics. some continue growing in college. I dont think I did. Sure eatinh right and excericisng is good anyways. but in the end youll either grow or you wont. there is no way anyone can know if you will or wont

I think I might have grown a bit. I’m a woman taller than both of my parents. Mom is 5’8 ish, dad’s 5’11. I’m 6’0. My sister is only 5’4 but her mom is shorter than mine.

At college age though, the odds of growing two inches are against you. I think my ex and current boyfriend both grew about an inch after high school, but they’re both over 6 ft.

My mom grew almost half a foot in college. Granted, she was slightly malnourished before college, but that’s still quite a bit! Some people develop later, but it doesn’t really sound like you’re one of them.

I shrunk a half-inch.

I’m 50 now. For the first 46 years of my life, I was consistently measured as 5’-8 1/2". Since then, though, I am always told that I’m 5’-9"! If the number varied, I would think it was a measurement error, but it’s always the same. Maybe running makes you taller!

DS was 6’2" when he went of to college at 18. He’s now 6’4"

Mom is 5’0". Dad is 5’10". I’m at 5’9". I’m not complaining. My friend is 7’0". My other friend who is 6’4" is already have back problems.

ML-exercise improves your posture so you might be correct :)!

I grew maybe half an inch in college. 5’9" to 5’10" and fluctuating.

Same. I used to be 5ft 8in but now am 5ft 7.5in.

I’m a girl. So I’m different.

But I’m shorter than my mother and my father. My dad is 6’0 and my mom is 5’7, so I definitely expected to be about as tall as them. Instead, I’m only 5’4. I’m shorter than all of my cousins, aunts, and grandmother. Not really sure what happened. lol

I’m 6’1 but I stopped growing in 7th grade. Everyone is different.

I’m female, but I completely stopped growing at 12 years old. I’ve been 5’ 3" for years now.

But I just feel the need to mention,

ASK YOUR MOTHER HOW TALL YOUR DAD WAS!

Holy crap. No need to come back with an entirely unwarranted sarcastic response when there is a simple solution. That was ridiculous. My dad passed when I was five and I know his height from asking. No need to be annoyingly sarcastic.

I’m about 2 months away from my 21st birthday and I’ve stuck at 6’5’’ since the junior year of high school. I grew about 3 inches during my sophomore year and from then on, I stopped growing (THANK GOD). I had my growth spurt during the midst of middle school, which was actually quite unfortunate for me because not being accustomed to the height, I’ve developed terrible posture as a kid that literally took me more than half a decade to correct.

I guess it differs from people to people, but all of my friends who’ve struck 6 foot usually grew steadily until they hit a certain height, had one or two growth spurts, and completely stopped (again, anecdotal evidence only so this may not apply to you). If you’ve had posture problems previously (those desks in school really killed my back), it could be possible that your splines may also be slightly curved. If you can gradually straighten it out via use of an inversion table and/or swimming + support braces (only works when the problem is in the lower back at less than 40 degree curvature of the spline, otherwise you need to have surgical corrections), then you can typically expect to grow another 4 inches if you really want. But for the most part, you’re not short at 5’8’’, and it’s not all that great being tall. I’m deathly afraid of ceiling fans and even slightly lower light fixtures, I can’t jog in modestly foliaged areas because I have to duck under branches constantly, I’ll probably die of back problems, and you have no idea how hard it is to find nice fitting jeans and shirts.

But the nice side effect is automatic shotgun

^ But the advantages of being tall far outweigh the disadvantages. Because you’re at a gigantic 6’'5, which is taller than anyone I’ve ever known, you’ll fare better in politics and business. People naturally look up to those who are taller than them, physically and metaphorically. I will probably have to wear 4-inch lifts to have anybody listen to me if I’m CEO! ;_; Plus, girls gravitate towards tall guys - nobody wants a shorty for their prom date.

I asked my Ma, and she said my father was also 5’'8. So it looks like I’ll be a shorty for life! I should have slept/exercised more in high school so I could at least have grown a few more inches with the additional releases of growth hormone.
