EC: too much to type.. but A LOT OF EC"S.. A LOT..
location: Canada..

I didn't get my letter yet, but I have no doubt that I either got waitlisted or rejected... I got defered for EA!!! and nothing has changed since

SAT: 1400/2160
SATII: 800MII, 770 BioE, 650USH
ACT: 33 + 12W
GPA: 3.8 UW, 4.01 W

ECs: alot of church stuff, my dad is the pastor
Location: Fairbanks, ALaska (reason I haven't received it yet)

I said in my essay (bad idea, but good essay), that I planned to get a 4.6 my 7th semester, and I did. Hope that betters my chances!!

According to Princeton Review, 665 people were waitlisted in 2005, and only 12% (80) were subsequently admitted.

Is there a reason why such a huge number of people get waitlisted (except for possibly an exercise in schadenfreude by the admissions committee)?

I got pulled out of the deferred pile without sending in supplemements, don't get discouraged.

Waitlisted also.

SAT: 1460/2180
GPA: 3.4 unweighed
Other: recs, essays, all great imo

I'm not sure if i want to stay on the list since i was accepted to northwestern, but surely it would've been nice if i got in at chicago. :(

yeah, waitlisted also. I'm hoping for their lowest yield ever, and this board is certainly not helping my cause...

Are you guys all staying on the waitlist? What other college options have you got?

wait listed
1350/1600
4.5W GPA

Some waitlist info from an admin counselor's blog:

"Some student for each of the past 5 years have been taken off of the waitlist."

"The waitlist is not ranked; everyone student who responds positively is reviewed again should we need to go to the waitlist for additional members of the Class of 2010."

what exactly does that mean "should we need to go to the waitlist for additional members of the Class of 2010."????? does this mean there's a chance that they'll not refer to the waitlist?

If the RD applicants accept the offer of admission in sufficient numbers, then there would be none taken from the waitlist. As noted, above, however, some have been taken for each of the last 5 years.
