So I took AP European history and got a 1. I got an A in the class, and passed the mock test with a 4. I know my essays were not completely garbage and I walked out thinking a 3. I'm sending my test in for a rescoring. I'm super bummed and it completely took away my joy from a 4 on the AP statistics test.

Anyone who has sent in their test for rescoring, did it affect you?

You are not alone Blankah, I had gotten 5’s and 4’s on multiple mock tests for AP Euro, and I walked out test day thinking that I had done far better than the mock tests, I figured a 5, a 4 if they could not read my writing very well, I was devastated when I found out I had gotten a 3.

Odds are they didn’t make a mistake. With such a significant drop though, it may be possible that you made an early bubbling error that really ruined your entire multiple choice.

If they could just tell me something like “We couldn’t read anything of your free-response, or we lost your test and said forget it.” I would feel 100 times better. It gives a feeling of inferiority when all of your friends are talking about 3’s and 4’s and you’re sitting here with the burden of the thought, “Am I really so stupid that I got a 1?”

I am regrading mine. If it comes back a 1 then I move on and get 4’s from now on and lie to my friends about getting a 3 ^_^

Is cancelling a score of a 1 a good option? I imagine canceling scores looks bad, but so does a 1…

@Blankah, I don’t believe you can cancel your score at this point. This isn’t a huge deal either. You don’t have to report this AP Score to schools if you don’t want to. You can contact the collegeboard to have them remove it from your so-called bundle as well though it wouldn’t really matter.

I doubt your score is going to change, but I wish you luck. Don’t be too embarrassed about it. I wouldn’t lie if I were in your place. I’d just avoid discussing my score. Oh and just letting you know, they only reexamine the multiple choice.
