Did you have to prepare for the Math Diagnostic Test?

Oh man, I don't even know why I'm asking now, but my orientation is tomorrow and I was wondering for those that took it, did you study before taking the test? I haven't done any Pre Cal since Junior year. I had Calculus AB senior year but there's no Calculus on the test. I'm guessing almost everyone didn't have to study, just went in, took it, and got a 36+?

Yeah, basically. I glanced over the practice test online but did no other review whatsoever. I got my results back today and I passed, although I do have to review some materials haha. Don't worry if you took Calc senior year and were at least decent at it, you should have no problem passing the Diagnostic Test.

I took Calculus BC my junior year and Pre-Calculus my sophomore year, so I'm pretty sure I've forgotten everything. What materials should I use to study? Would my study book for SATII Math Level C work?

If you took any form of Calculus (Calculus AB, Calculus BC, IB Calculus, community college Calculus) you're good to go.

really easy. no calc.. mainly algebra.. i didn't feel really well during the exam, and still ended up passing anyways.

it's a really easy test. go take the test online and gauge your ability that way. I took calculus ab junior year and trig the summer prior to that and I scored well above the required 36/60. (however, I missed all the trig questions haha)

I didn't exactly 'study'. I took the online test and then looked up the formulas of the problems I missed. Going through your test prep books will probably just waste your time because they go over more information than you need for this test, so you might end up studying needlessly. you only need to get 65% right, so don't worry too much about this.

channel_26 has the right idea
online practice test, 40 questions...the one you take at ucla is 60 questions, but i've taken the MDT and this practice test and they cover very very very similar topics
if you take the practice test and review the ones you get wrong...no problem at all

California Mathematics Diagnostic Testing Project

why are you guys studying for it!?? it is so friggin easy and if you can get into UCLA you guys should be smart enough to pass it without studying... really it is not hard at all
