Just out of curiosity, how many of you read your recommendations before they were sent out (or after)? Alos, did you have your teachers edit them? I'm feeling more and more like the odd man out because I didn't even ask to read them. My counselor was so proud of hers that she read it to me, but I only have an idea of the others.

I read all of my recommendations. But only because my teachers gave me them to give to my counselor.

At my school, the teacher puts them in a sealed envelope and signs them across the seal. Same with counselor. So I didn't read any. However, I asked them what they said, and I think they were really really good.

yeah...my teachers showed me theirs...which was kinda weird, but i didn't mind; they were very well written and I think they accurately conveyed my personality...is it bad though if in a couple of those categories they didn't check off "best in my career"?

i saw the additional letters they attached...but i dont know about the categories...

actually, my theatre teacher told me he gave me good marks for all of those except "self-confidence". he likes to be very honest. im okay with that. (unless it gets me rejected, lol).

I read my ap bio teacher's rec and it was really good (better than i could dream for). My ap us teacher also wrote a really good one...

I didn't get to read my counselor rec, and i think it was mediocre since i really didn't know her. She seems to like me tho.

my apus teacher wrote one too..

i saw one but she told me to proof it and make sure it had all the things i wanted in there (?). but i never saw the counselor rec or the other teacher rec or either of my two supp recs.

Never saw them, but my counselor told me I had 3 excellent recs.

All my teachers offered to give me copies, but I thought I was being ethical by saying no. I REALLY regret it just about now when every detail of my application is racing through my mind finding some reason why I should be rejected.

I didn't look at them but I'm sure they're fine. I gave all my teachers envelopes with addresses already on them.

I didn't read my teachers', but the GCs always show them to the students, so I read that one.

Do you guys know how they checked off the boxes. Did you guys get mostly "best in my career", "Outstanding", "Excellent", or "good"?

Oh good, so a lot of us did read our recs. I thought that was against the "law of confidentiality" or something, but my teachers insisted that I take a glance at them, so I did. I kind of felt bad about it, but hey, now I found out it's normal!

I can't evaluate my recs since mine are the only ones I've seen, but I think they're strong. I don't want to add too many superlatives, but it's safe to say that.

I read all of them. I did not want to send off a bad rec.

are you guyz serious?
I didn't get to read any of my recommendations...

Well, actually, my counselor wrote a letter of rec separately from the actual form, and she gave one to me and I read it,,,(it was okay considering that she is new this year... and I didn't really know her...) but all the other teachers'... I didn't read it. I thought I wasn't supposed to, so I didn't even ask for it!

I didn't get to read any of my recs. I discussed with one teacher what he was going to write. I feel like I should've at least read my guidance couselor's rec. She's new and eh... I don't trust her.

haha.. yea mine was new too...

I juss gave my teachers a detailed resume with some side notes on it...

oh yea and a thank you letter...(:

My teachers like to send it in seperately. Like even the guidance counselor doesn't see it. But I suppose they were great...I hope anyway. And I go to a tiny school (like 30 in the entire grade) so my GC knew me well.
