Didn't do the writing section

I got a 760 on writing last time and the colleges I'm applying to superscore so I only did like 7 writing questions on the June SAT and used the rest of the time to relax. My mom says that was really stupid of me, what do you guys think?

ummm well if you decide to use some of the sections from this test, won’t colleges see your writing? so, if you happen to get like a 400, they may wonder…

Yeah I probably will use math and CR. I’ll probably just explain in my interview why my writing score was so awful.

I give you a thumbs down, good sir. I don’t have a super solid reason why, I just think that it would have been prudent of you to have done every section completely and to the best of your abilities. That way you won’t regret it later on, even if it doesn’t come up as a problem. Better to play it safe, etc. But hey, it seems like you know what you’re doing…I think…

You can’t just “use” math and CR—you always send a whole date of the SAT 1 to colleges, so your composite score will probably be drastically lower. Even if colleges superscore each section, they’ll still see a super low score and know that you completely slacked off. i.e.

500 500 800
and 800 800 500

doesn’t exactly reflect as well as a 2400. You probably should have tried a bit harder, but hakuna matata

What if colleges think think that during your Writing sections you were doing Critical reading and Math ?Very stupid of you men.You still have time to cancel.Honestly,WR questions are so easy and exhilarating …

They will probably understand what you did but I doubt they’ll like or respect it.

oh well, I’m taking it at least one more time anyways so if this turns out to be a problem then it’s really no big deal.

Not sure they’ll like your reason very much.

@jamiroqual

Lol i was reading this thread while watching lion king 1 with my sister,i was singing “hakuna matata”

should have shot for a 770.

+1 to the above statement.

Stupid reason … I dont know man …The test continues for more than 5 hours. What are 35 minutes compared to 5 hours …

I don’t really see why you didn’t just do it. Why not shoot for higher than the 760? For all you know it might have gone even better, and I don’t think that colleges will find your reason very pleasing…

But oh well, respect to you for chilling out for an entire portion of the SAT!! Do you mind me asking what you were doing for those 35 minutes (not that there’s much to do…)?

I put my head on my desk and waited for the next section. In hindsight I agree I should have done it, not because I could have done better (I’m satisfied with 760), but because I misunderstood the way that superscoring works.

You could have randomly filled in the circles and see what would’ve happened. It was a stupid decision, but it’s too late to do anything. (well. except cancel).
