So I got in to UCSD for next fall as a transfer.I was just wondering by what time do I need to finish the classes on assist.org (the preparatory classes) for my major (Psychology B.A). I still have 6 out of the 8 classes. Yeah seems like a lot but for the past year Ive been focusing on taking all the required classes for SDSU just in case UCSD wouldn't happen.

So can anyone tell me if you HAVE to finish the classes within the first year as a transfer or is it just recommended? Im really just scared because I feel like the classes may get full realllllllly fast next year and I wont be able to get into all of them by the end of the year. Can anyone please let me know? I cant seem to find a time line anywhere online.

You won’t have to complete ALL of them for UCSD. I guarantee you this. As long as you complete IGETC you should be in good shape (this is assuming you are TAG’ing, btw).

Also, this brings up an interesting thing that i’ve noticed. I got accepted by UCI for the Econ major, but I didn’t complete 3-4 of there pre-reqs. I almost crossed out this campus due to the fact that they CLEARLY state that you must complete ALL of your pre-reqs to be considered for admission. The fact that they accepted me even though i was missing several of these classes basically tells me its a joke of a school.

Don’t go there then, and give me your spot -_-

But seriously, I think most schools really want you to finish them all, but if you are missing a few and are overly-qualified in other regards, they will take you anyway.

So far I’ve gotten into UCSB, and I will be missing one pre-req from that articulation agreement.

Well I am hoping you don’t need to take them all considering my college only offered one course that articulated to UCLA =/ and it was the intro to

Oh no Im not asking by when do I need to take them before I transfer. Im asking if I need to take it AFTER I transfer? Like do I need to finish them all the first year I transfer or just by the time I graduate? (I already did IGETC and TAG)
