ahh i didn't finish the essay this morning! usually, the proctor announces the 5 minute left mark and thats when i know i have to wrap it up, but today she just said, "ok close your test booklets" as i was in the middle of a sentance (i was in the corner out of viewing range of the clock) i couldn't even finish the sentence! my essay has two well-structured paragraphs, and then a: 'this influenced society because...'

obviously, a really solid conclusion.

so how will this be scored? how many points do i lose for not finishing it? did this happen to anyone else?
im soooo annoyed.

YES! it happened to me during the January test. I was freaking out and so nervous about not finishing. Some points were definitely taken off, but it wasn't as terrible as I thought it was going to be.

I had no conclusion at all and still got a 9...

Nah, I managed to finish my essay because I had brought my own watch :d. However, the thing that really got me ticked was one of the two grid-in's we had in Math. It seemed the first grid-in was ridiculously harder than the second..I must have ommitted at least 4 just in that damn section :( I really hope that was an experimental section.

However, if I manage to score decent in math, I think your essay will be just fine.

yes, you can cancel the test until next wednesday i think.

i didnt finish my essay either, it was awful and i am not expecting anything higher than a 6. i was just beginning an example about the cold war when time was called. sooo mad!

i didn't even write a standard "essay" format, i heard people ranting about how they were happy they finished five paragraphs, but seriously. i don't have time to plan like that, i just go write my intro (basically rant about the topic in a positive/negative light), then have some long rambly paragraph about the subject, throwing in examples and such... and i had my last sentence in a "new paragraph" which counted as my conclusion, lol. that's what i did for my ap essays (for the most part), so i hope it's fine :)

yeah i didn't finish my essay in Jan. still got a 10. didn't finish this time, either. probably got 8-10 but writing isnt a big concern of mine...i was satisfied with Jan's score.

I'm in the exact same situation as all of you, especially dancingbear. I had just started to write a body paragraph and then the proctor abruptly told us to stop writing. I swear, we were robbed of 5 minutes. I know! I was timing it!

I've never had a problem writing the essay in 25 minutes and I always manage to get an 11 or 12. It sucks because I was shooting for 800 on the writing. I feel that I can't possibly have higher than a 6/7 on the essay and I'm leaning towards cancelling. I'm devastated :(

yeah i was thinking about cancelling, but, at the same time, I think I did well on M and CR, and most schools will look at your highest score in each section, so i might as well get the scores....would be a waste of 45 bucks.
