so when i went to get my nyu id # i realized that it had never been sent to me... in the first confirmation email it said:

You will receive a second confirmation which will include your NYU
University Identification Number ("University ID") as soon as we have
entered your information into our computer system.

if i didn't get the second confirmation, does that mean they haven't entered my info into the system yet?

i clicked: "don't know network ID?", typed in my social security, and got a "NEWLY ACCEPTED STUDENTS: UNIVERSITY ID"
i havent gotten a letter in the mail yet, so i'm only 99% estatic. haha. hope for the 100% confirmation if i get a letter in the mail tomorrow!

ATTENTION! we have not been able to verify your identity by matching our records of your ID with your date of birth. This can occur if our database does not contain correct date-of-birth information or if you didn't correctly enter your birthdate

I got that. Hope it doesn't mean I go into a deep depression for the next 6 months.

OK, i have a HUGE problem that is VASTLY different from all of you guys.

ok, so out of curiousity, i decided to try to log in, and strangely enough, i was able to.

BUT

I've submitted my application to nyu as a transfer student, and i'm a college sophomore right now and i hope to be a junior at nyu.

here's the twist: back when i was a senior in highschool, i was accepted to nyu, but declined the acceptance due to financial problems.

now, after two years, what the **** does this mean. i mean, god, i even have my own nyu email address.

i won't hear from the admissions office until the end of april, so i'm just wondering if this is just really old from when i got in ages ago or is this something totally new.

Im in a similar situation. Im a transfer applicant as well, and I can log into the NYU website and see my email and everything. This is weird, because I KNOW they havent started admitting people yet. They dont even LOOK at transfer apps until today. So Im not admitted, but I can log on.... Personally, I dont think this website means anything. As long as you got that confirmation that youre in their computer I think you can request an ID and log on.

A) I did not apply as a senior. This is my first application to NYU.
B) I read somewhere on their website that they dont look at transfer apps until April 1. Maybe Im wrong on that, Ill doublecheck.

From the NYU website Admissions Bulletin Board:
The application line for transfer applicants is April 1st. Our Admissions Committee generally does not begin the transfer review process until that time. Transfer students will be notified on a rolling basis through-out the months of April and May and, in some rare cases, June as well. All admissions decisions are released in writing via the United States Postal Service

I got into NYUHome with the NetID and University ID given me. I haven't received any official admission letter or invitation (I live in Taiwan). Although the page says "Newly accepted students!", and I could enter both NYUHome account, Albert, and check class schedule/availabilty, there's a Registration Status page in Albert that says "You are not currently eligible to register for this term (fall, 05). You must be activated or readmitted to qualify. Please click on this message for additional information."

It implies I'm either rejected or I'm in and need to activate by giving a phone call to Undergraduate Admissions. They are asleep now and it's weekend, so guess I have to wait...

Just wondering, I applied to Tisch. Is it possible I get rejected from Tisch and automatically be considered for CAS (nyu said CAS is chosen if ppl selected "undecided" in the app)?

(...very anxious for the official letter...anyone in Asia get it?...)

just another thought for ppl who believe online account means admission. Each account has 100 mb of space for email, homepage, & account info. It'd be odd for 34,000 applicants to all receive an account, which means reserving about 3400GB of nyu's computer storage.

But its impossible that the website means admission. Im a transfer applicant and they havent even begun reviewing transfer applications yet, so I know Im not in, but I can log into the website. Maybe they just like wasting computer space....
