69,000 apps and only 7,900 accepted. took my ge at Moorpark cc. to be tag'd, i would have had to take ALL my ge at a san diego cc. Now what should I do? Feel like even next year I might not get in based on budget cutbacks. major is sports therapy program. GPA is 3.0.

Can you please cite a source for these statistics? Are you mistaking SDSU for UCLA?

On the SDSU webportal, it said that there were over 69,000 applications received for the Fall semester of 2012 and only 7,603 undergraduates enrollment slots.
I was denied from SDSU as of March 8th, 2012 as a first-time freshmen.
It wasn’t my dream school nor was it my first choice but I am still sad because if I didn’t get into this school, what will be my chances for my first choice of college?

Good luck to those who are waiting or have been accepted!!! :)

Here are the numbers:

15 percent increase in applications
50,705 freshmen applicants
18,181 upper-division transfer applicants

They accept many more than 7,603 to yield that number of freshmen. They probably accept 4 X that plus.

I was accepted at SDSU! Just found out a couple of weeks ago.
Just because you didn’t get into SDSU in no way means that you won’t get into your first choice schools! Every school looks at applications differently. Wherever you end up, you’re going to have an amazing college experience!!

i got into sdsu super early. with my ****ty SAT scores too (first time scores, like 1560 composite haha). i think they just like international students lots. i won’t be attending however, recently got into a school which is near the top on my list :)

Why didn’t I get accepted to SDSU when my twin sister did? She is not as smart as I am. My GPA is higher and my test scores are higher. Do these stupid school systems have to be fair and accept dumber students? Is that it? I’m so ****sed. I mean it was not my first choice of school; however, it was my backup plan if I didn’t get accepted into any UCs.

I don’t know what to say about you and your twin sisters, but the San Diego schools are some of the hardest to get into in the state. Just because you didn’t get into SDSU in no way means that you won’t get into UCs out of the San Diego area! I’m sure you’ll get in somewhere great!!
