I visited Loyola on the 19th, and I fell in love with everything they had to offer except the complete lack of diversity in that school. I am an asian who is quite big on diversity and multicultural affairs and looking around Loyola, I did not get any of that. I got a a lot of money there so that is why I'm considering in the first place--the education seems top-notch and it seems like such a waste to not go there. 3500 is still small for my preferences; I've always wanted to go to a bigger school. Should I still consider it? Or will I crave an eclectic mix of students when I attend?

Also, although I am considering business right now, I may want to switch to forensic science, and I'm not aware that Loyola offers this?

Thank you!

FYI, please take a look at ALANA (African, Latino, Asian and Native American Student Services)

I think Loyola College is very serious in increasing diversity of its student body and is excited to have students like you. If you "fell in love with everything they had to offer", then why not coming here? Your attendance would make a definite contribution to the diversity of Loyola!

Thank you blm_1975! I will look into that. How are the extracurriculars for this school? I'd like to hear from those who actually attend the school. Thanks!

Collegechic,

"Loyola College also offers extra curricular activities including Clubs and Societies, Performing Arts, Public Speaking and Debating, Service and Spirituality, and Sport. Major events during the school year include St Ignatius Day, the Musical Production and Dramatic Production, Globe Shakespeare, House Drama, House Music, Athletics Carnival and Swimming Carnival."

I'm sorry, I think I gave you a wrong site. See this site instead:

Clubs and Organizations

Im a Loyola sophmore, and while I love the school I will say it def lacks in the area of diversity. Yea, they tell you that there's tons of clubs and activities and while some of that is true, the activities aren't as amazing as advertised and many dont even bother going. If your main concentration/desire is going to be on diversity than i would skip Loyola

wait wait wait....

U don't mean the atmosphere is racist... Do you??!!
reply plz

I wouldnt say that the atmosphere is racist. I mean there are some minorities that go here and they have no problem with Loyola. I even have a couple of friends that are minorities that are extremly involved in on-campus activities. However, I will say that Loyola is a school attended mostly by upper class white people and that is def apparent. In the winter you will pass more people wth Uggs then you ever knew owned them. There s no predjudice, like there is no anti-minority sentiment on campus, but there def arent that many minorites on campus to be predjudiced against anyway

thank you very very much....
I asked b/c I am pretty new to America and I don't want to go to a racist atmosphere school like the HS I'm attending now.... absolutely isolated and the aggressive words even a ESOL 4 student like me could understand....
Since my F***ing SAT CR score won't let me into IVYs... I wanna choose a private small school...
oh... why am i talking about..... thanks a lot tho =P
