Until now…am I screwed?
Not necessarily screwed. Unfortunately, your chances are probably significantly lessened. Wake Forest pretty much requires them. If you have great grades and great test scores, Wake Forest may suspect they are your safety school. If you’re right on the cusp of acceptance, an interview may have set you over the edge. Sorry about that. That’s a bummer. Hold out hope anyways.
Okay thanks. I think my stats are right in the middle. I was not contacted for an interview…but I didn’t know I was supposed to contact them.
I’m curious how you missed the fact that an interview was an important part of the Wake Forest admissions process. When you go to the admissions page and click the How to Apply tab, information about scheduling an interview is the first thing on the page.
I don’t mean to be harsh. I really want to know. Wake isn’t one of those schools that has an easy application process. There are something like 8 essays/questions to address. Why/how do you think you missed this critical step?
It might help other applicants in the future.
I just went on Common App and answered to all of the prompts…Looks like I’m not getting in.
@ThePariah - Don’t panic yet. What’s done is done. WFU stresses that interviews are a big part of the process, but they also say they aren’t mandatory. Good luck… the decisions are in the mail.
Thanks. I am counting on this one!!!
That’s great news! I worked hard on those essays and I believe that I could not have scheduled for an interview at all because I did not decide to apply until mid December, and I cannot afford to visit the campus.
Just as a heads up for future applicants, they conduct Skype and phone interviews…
However, all interviews were booked by early December. My son was unable to get Skype interview in December. If WF is one of your top choices, be sure to schedule your interview early. I think they are definitely a school that has some emphasis on demonstrated interest. I think lack of interview was a major reason my S was waitlisted.
@ThePariah i think you’ll be fine! Don’t worry. I didn’t know that interviews were being conducted so I just answered the prompts and I got in
S never scheduled an interview and received his acceptance today.
@casperr I was rejected, but I was accepted into UMich. (And rejected/waitlisted by all the other schools I’ve applied to, besides my safeties)
@ThePariah thats amazing! Umich is an amazing university. I have to choose between WFU and Umich making this decision is going to be hard.
XD.
