We failed to include the business/farm supplement with the IDOCs. My mom refused to fill it out (x.x) because my mom's business is just a way for her to track the money she earns for things on ebay or something. The income from the business is zero or negative, and this was recorded on the 1040.

Now two of the colleges I applied to sent me a letter saying that I am missing it and to send it in. We are doing it, and will put it in the mail by Monday, but since financial aid/grant money is awarded on a first-come first-serve basis, does this put us out of the running for most of it since the file was not complete until so late? Or have they already looked at the numbers and made a decision, and just want the form for verification?

Basically, my question is do they make a decision based on the FAFSA and CSS profile and then verify with the documents, or do they wait until the file is complete until looking at it (in which case all grant money would be gone by the time mine is complete)?

Thanks for your help.
