<p>What is the difference between ap english language and ap english literature, i am a junior this year and i am taking ap english 11, so am i taking the language class or the literature class, i need to know so i can buy the correct test prep book.</p>
<p>most eleventh graders take ap LANGUAGE not literature. ap language focuses more on grammar and vocab (like a really long critical reading/writing section of the SAt). ap literature, however, focuses of literary styles and concepts. one must have exposure to a variety of literary genres.</p>
<p>many colleges accept ap lit credit but not ap lang credit.</p>
