Difference between 25% to 27%

Is there a huge difference in college applications if you’re just outside the border of the top quarter? I’m currently at 22% but I am worried that my rank may drop to around 26%. Will it still count as being in the top quarter? Or will it be top half?

.

If you’re not in the top 25%, then you’re not in the top quarter. That being said, there probably won’t be a significant difference in being ranked 24% vs. 26%, though a drop in your gpa is never good.

@danfer91 okay thanks! i dont think my gpa is going to drop but it was just speculation

there are alot of students in my class whose gpas are plummeting

If you are talking about the UT, you’re chances of getting in and not being in the top 25% are slim to none. In 2016 alone, 95% of admitted applicants were in the top quarter of their graduating class. Being in the top 25% isnt a guarantee by any means either, but not being in the top 25% really destroys your chances.
