Difference between "A-" and "A"

Although my school has the grading system that distinguishes between "A+", "A" and "A-", I was told by my school counselor that "A" is equal to 4.0 GPA regardless of its sign.
It is like this:

Other My
School School

A+ 4.0 4.0
A 4.0 4.0
A- 3.7 4.0
B+ 3.3 3.0
B 3.0 3.0
B- 2.7 3.0
C+ 2.3 2.0
C 2.0 2.0
C- 1.7 2.0
D+ 1.3 1.0
D 1.0 1.0
D- 0.7 1.0
F 0 0

According to my school GPA system, my total unweighted GPA is 4.0 although it has many "A-"s.
In college admission, will my grade be regarded as a grade with 4.0 GPA?
And my grade in religion, PE and elective classes will also be counted in admission of even prestigious universities?

I don’t think that there is a standard answer that applies to all colleges. You would have to check with the ones where you’re applying to find out their policy on A- and calculation of academic gpa.

The UC’s, for example, calculate any type of an A as a 4.0 (unless weighted AP/IB), and do not include PE classes in their calculation of your GPA.

OK. I will check system of the university of my choice.
Thanks :)
