Difference between Chem 1A and Chem 4A?

I'm a Bioengineering major and just wanted to know what the main diff. is b/w these classes and which I should take

Chem 4A is mainly for chemistry and chemical engineering majors. It is more rigorous, covering analytical chemistry in greater depth.

Since you're a biology intensive major, I would recommend Chem 1A.

ok thanks a lot!

I took 4a spring '07. Chem 4a starts with the basics and thermo, moves on to acidimetry, and finishes up with an intro to quantum. Don't fall behind on the quantum reading and you'll be fine. If you took AP chem and did well, chem 1a will be boring and easy. Chem 4a isn't really too hard. If you're maybe looking for a little challenge, take 4a.

If you like chem a lot and want to learn more then take 4A. But if you want a basic understanding of chem (as well as an easier grading scale) take 1A.
