Hi, can someone please explain to me the difference between CS major and CSE major at UC Davis. I was recently admitted to Davis for Computer Science major under College of letter and Science. From my understanding, college of Engineering is more related to CS and should be more prestigious compared to LSA.
I’m really worried, should I switch major to CSE? If so, is it possible to switch because these two majors are under different colleges.

Nope, not at all. CSE and CS have the same job opportunities, and people I know from both majors ended up in the same types of jobs.
The link above pretty much summarizes it: It makes no difference in the long run. Trust me, in the software industry nobody cares whether your degree has the engineering “sticker” next to it or not. They care that you can get the job done.
