Difference between date submitted and date downloaded?

On my common app page, it says my common app was :

Downloaded
Date:11/02

Even though I submitted it at around 11:45 pm EST on Nov 1st. It previously said "Submitted 11/01".

This is okay right? It was submitted on time. I assume "submitted" means it was sent in and "download" means the penn servers received it.

Heh I'm not sure, at least you're not in my boat, I submitted like 11:20 PM Central and it says submitted 11/02 still =/

Hmmm. Well I looked around the other forums and apparently the "downloaded date" doesn't matter. It's when you submitted it that counts.

That's unfortunate, eloquence. I read that they accept the application as long as it's still nov. 1st somewhere in the world (which would actually be about 18 hours later than the EST deadline).

If I were you I would try calling the admissions office tomorrow to ask if your app is considered late and whether or not they can accept it. Maybe make something up about computer trouble or something? Good luck in any case.

I am gonna call tomorrow just to make sure, but I won't lie to them, I mean I didn't know they went by EST time for the Nov. 1 deadline, it's an honest mistake and I see no reason why I should be penalized.

Sure I procrastinated, but I still got it done :)

Procrastinators unite! :)

I bet I procrastinated so much worse than you :D

I wrote two thirds of my Why Penn essay today. Beat that.

Submitted CSS Profile Today, Completed and Faxed Financial Aid app. today, wrote both essays and a short answer today.

D:

I did the entire CSS Profile, completed and mailed the financial aid application, write half my Why Penn essay, wrote all THREE of my short answers (what I do for fun, expand on an extra curricular, and name a professor), and filled out random information on the common app.

The only reason I found out the financial aid stuff was due today was from checking this forum at 10 AM today. I am so lucky.

We might be tied. :P

Well you might have me beat just by the random filling out stuff today.. but just barely!

Procrastinators to the end baby :)

I'm going to crumble the rejection letter before I even open it so it doesn't hurt as much when I find out I was rejected/deferred. :)

Haha although I know chances probably aren't well for me, I'm oddly optimistic :P

Time to start my other college essays then!

Don't call the office 500 times. Don't make yourself into a pain in the #ss. Be cool man - they like cool people, not nervous nellies. Downloaded is when the admission office pulls the app off the common app site - they control that at their end. They could download it a week later and it still wouldn't be late if it were submitted by 11.1.
