Difference between ECE and EE

I'm currently in a EET program but am thinking of transferring.

The two schools I'm considering transferring too are either Rowan University or NJIT.

The biggest difference is in the choice of majors. Rowan doesn't offer an EE degree only an ECE. While NJIT offers an EE degree.

I can't really find an explicit explanation of the difference. is ECE an EE degree with a bit of CE added, the other way around, or "watered down" version of both.

I'm still getting my applications together so it's not like I have to make a decision right away which is why I'm trying to get some info together.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

ECE - Electrical and Computer Engineering
EE - Electrical Engineering
CE - Computer Engineering
EET - Electronics Engineering Technology
For Clarification :)

ECE is essentially a EE degree with a focus on computer hardware/software.

EE is more general and has a lot of different concentrations..

Pretty simple really

So then what's the difference between ECE and CE, since I thought an EE with a concentration in Computers was basically a CE?

Though I could very easily be wrong.

ECE is supposed to be more of a dual degree with a focus on computer hardware/software but you still take all those general EE classes

CE is mostly computer software/hardware. Some schools give you the option to either concentrate on software or hardware or both.

It really depends on the school and how their curriculum is set up.
