Hello, does anyone know the difference between ED1 and ED2 besides the obvious one that ED1 is before ED2? Does applying ED1 increase your chances of getting accepted? (I want to take the SAT II's and SAT again, so I don't think I will be able to apply ED1 and wanted to know if that would hurt my chances of getting in.) Thanks a lot.

EDII should be your ED of choice if you need an extra semester of senior year grades to bolster your application. EDI is for those who are ready to send themselves in for review as is. Statistically an equal number get in from both sessions.

furthermore, if you apply ED1, there's a chance you may only need to write one application. ED2 is sent in at the same time as regular decision, so you need to have all of your other ones ready.
if you know you want tufts, do ED1, and if you get in, it saves you the tremendous trouble of preparing the other applications. if you did ED2, you'd have to do them regardless.
